As a young entrepreneur, Mary currently performs all business, design and operational aspects of her self-titled clothing line launched in 2014, MARY YOUNG. The company was formed as a result of her success in her graduating year at Ryerson where she became the first Fashion student to deliver both a capstone and a collection; the latter of which was chosen as one of the top collections in the Mass Exodus curated show. Since its inception, the brand has enjoyed consistent sales growth and has earned significant exposure in notable publications such as Refinery29, Chatelaine, Elle Canada and with well-known fashion bloggers in both Canada and the U.S. Mary herself has earned a reputation for business and brand development, social marketing, community development and website design and is a frequent speaker at functions in and around the Toronto area. Named as one of Flare’s top 60 under 30 in 2016, Mary’s vision is to positively influence the Canadian-made fashion industry and offer women an alternative in clothing choices; complementing their lifestyle and identities without conforming them into what media determines a woman should be.
